The Zaire World Cup 1974 COPA retro football shirt. This football shirt was worn by the football players of Zaire during the World Cup in 1974. This COPA shirt is predominantly green with yellow accents. The large collar and the trims are in yellow. Furthermore, this Zaire shirt has short sleeves. The COPA Classic retro football shirts have a regular fit and are delivered in a luxury gift box. 100% cotton.

In 1974, Zaire took part in the World Cup for the first time. They didn't make it past the first round. All 3 group matches were lost, including 9-0 against Yugoslavia. The first matches were lost to Scotland (0-2). The second game was 9-0. The country's dictator Mobutu was furious and demanded nothing more from his team than a 3-0 defeat to the Brazilians, which worked out miraculously. The match became legendary, because player Muepu Ilunga kicked the ball hard on a free kick by the Brazilians. The move was widely seen as naivete, but the player later stated that he deliberately applied for a red card as a protest against his own government. In 1974 the Africa Cup was won by Zaire.
