In 1979, Johan Cruyff played a full season for the Los Angeles Aztecs. During this period, he played 27 matches and scored 14 goals, once again demonstrating his exceptional class.
On May 23, 1979, he made his debut against the Rochester Lancers and scored twice within 10 minutes. Under the management of Rinus Michels, Cruyff was named NASL Most Valuable Player that year.
