The World Cup 1966-1970-1974 box set contains three different socks featuring the official mascots from the 1966, 1970 and 1974 FIFA World Cups. The official mascots are a set of unique characters for each event. The tradition of the official FIFA World Cup mascots started in 1966 during the World Cup in England with a lion named World Cup Willie. Willie was one of the first mascots associated with major sports leagues. The mascots represent a characteristic of the host country, such as flora, fauna or costume. The characters are aimed at children and coincide with shows and merchandise. During the 1970 World Cup in Mexico, Juanito was the official mascot and during the 1974 World Cup in West Germany, Tip and Tap were the mascots. The COPA socks are produced in Italy and are made of 85% cotton, 12% nylon and 3% lycra. The soft cotton ensures ultimate comfort.
